Women's Basketball rally falls short at #19 Indiana Tech

(Fort Wayne, IN) - Concordia women's basketball traveled to #19 Indiana Tech on Wednesday night for a key WHAC matchup. The Cardinals kept the game close early and made a late rally but the Warriors claimed a 63-48 win.

Taylor Leatherman led all scorers with 20 points. Ellie Kallner finished second with 11 points. Ellery Baker had a team-high 12 rebounds.

 

Taylor Leatherman opened scoring with a layup. Ellery Baker scored inside and Ellie Kallner capped a 7-0 run with a triple. Indiana Tech retook the lead but Abby Long countered with two baskets late in the quarter. CUAA trailed 12-11 after the first quarter.

Taylor Leatherman tied the game 14-14 with a 3-pointer. Ellie Kallner made a jumper down the stretch, but Indiana Tech clamped down defensively and led 25-16 at halftime.

 

Taylor Leatherman started the third quarter with an "and-1". Indiana Tech answered with a 12-0 run until Abby Long drained two free throws. Alexx Braddock scored inside and both Taylor Leatherman and Ellie Kallner nailed triples. Maren McCallister added two free throws and Leatherman had a layup. CUAA trailed 47-33 after the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Taylor Leatherman kept pacing the offense with a jumper and two free throws. Abby Long made a jumpshot, Maren McCallister hit a 3-pointer and Leatherman finished an "and-1" off the high glass. Ellie Kallner made a triple to cut the deficit to 8 points. However, Indiana Tech held on and took a 63-48 win.

 

Concordia will host Aquinas this Saturday at 1pm.
