Women’s Soccer lands 12 new recruits for 2023-24 season

[Ann Arbor, MI] — Head coach Darus Ward is excited to announce the official women's soccer recruiting class for the 2023-24 season. There are 12 additions to the team that will make their presence felt on the pitch this fall.

When talking about the most recent recruiting class, coach Ward said, "We want to thank all of the young women and their families for taking a chance on us and our idea of creating a competitive and fun environment. We truly believe that we can do both here at Concordia."

"We were very honest about the state of the program and the direction we want to go in. We achieved our goals of adding talent, competitive edge, high football (soccer) intelligence, and human quality," coach Ward said about the kind of players the program signed, later adding, "Also, we wanted to add players from outside the state to increase our geographical diversity."

"This class features a few gritty defenders to help improve our backline and overall defensive structure. Which will allow us to be flexible and free flowing in the attacking transitions."

Coach Ward also emphasized that the returning team will be crucial in helping these newcomers with respect to the culture of the program, stating, "We will depend on our returners to help settle this incoming group because they understand the environment and how we like to work as a staff. Something special will happen here and this class will be the driving force."
