Women's Soccer upends Cornerstone on Senior Day

(Ann Arbor, MI) Concordia Women's Soccer wrapped up their season with a WHAC match against Cornerstone Saturday afternoon. After celebrating their seniors, the Cardinals went on to win the match 3-0. Kendra Lewis, Alyssa Pringle, and Katelyn Aiello each scored a goal and assisted on another in the win. Hayley Jacobson kept a clean sheet with 15 saves on the day.

Alyssa Pringle got things started early for the Cardinals when she headed home Katelyn Aiello's pass three minutes in. Cornerstone pressed hard for the remainder of the half, but were unable to beat Hayley Jacobson and the Cardinal defense. Concordia had a pair of corner kicks towards the end of the half, but the Golden Eagles held firm, keeping it a one score game.

It would not stay a one score game for long as Katelyn Aiello buried Kendra Lewis's corner kick five minutes into the second half. Kendra Lewis secured the win with a minute remaining in the match, when Alyssa Pringle's pass sprung her open on a breakaway. Lewis tracked down the ball and snuck it past the charging Cornerstone keeper to make it a 3-0 victory for Concordia.

The match concluded the 2023 campaign for the Cardinals.
