UNOH comes back to take down Women's Soccer 2-1

(Ann Arbor, MI) Concordia Women's Soccer hosted University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) Wednesday afternoon for a WHAC contest. The Cardinals jumped out to a 1-0 lead ten minutes into the game, but gave up a pair of second half goals to ultimately fall 1-2.

The Racers had an onslaught of corner kicks in the beginning of the first half, but were unable to get through the Cardinal defense. Ten minutes in, Yvonne Clark sprang Alyssa Pringle open down the left wing, who ran it down and buried into the top left corner of the net for the lead. Concordia held on to the lead, in large part thanks to a Rory Brown defensive save on the back line later in the half.

Hayley Jacobson made a pair of saves off of a Racers corner kick early on in the second to preserve the lead even further. Later, the Racers' Patricia Blazquez received a through ball and sent it over Jacobson to draw even. Less than ten minutes later, Blazquez got the ball down the left side again and rocketed a shot into the upper corner, just past the reach of Jacobson, to give UNOH the lead. The Cardinals fought to bring the game back even, but were unable to do so, dropping the match 1-2.

Next up for the Cardinals will be their final home match of the season as they celebrate senior day on Saturday, October 28th. Kick off is set for 3:00 PM at Ferry Field at Cardinal Stadium.
