Women's soccer falls to Dearborn

(Ann Arbor) – Concordia's women's soccer team hosted Michigan Dearborn at home on Friday for a WHAC match-up. The Cardinals were well matched but towards the end Dearborn was able to get a point in, ending the game 1-0.  

The Cardinals also recognized those who have battled cancer during halftime in honor of breast cancer awareness month. 

1st half

The score remained 0-0 throughout the half. Concordia was able to get 3 shot attempts. The first was by Alexis Russell but it went wide. The second by Alyssa Pringle was stopped by Dearborn's goalie and the third by Andrea Foster was also saved by Dearborn. Hayley Jacobson was the goalie the entire half recording 1 save.

 2nd half

Dearborn had a shot attempt early on by it was stopped by Hayley Jacobson her 2nd save. Alexis Russell had another shot attempt stopped by the goalie. Katelyn Aiello got her first attempt at a shot it went high. With almost 14 minutes remaining in the second half, Dearborn would score making the score 0-1. The Cardinals fought until the end but were never quite able to score. Micayla McGee would also get a shot attempt.

Concordia will play again at home against Lourdes on October 18th at 2 p.m.
