Women's Soccer drops match to Madonna

(Livonia, MI) – Concordia women's soccer traveled to Madonna on Wednesday afternoon for a WHAC tilt. The Cardinals attacked early and stayed close in the first half, but the Crusaders came away with a 3-0 win.

 

Hayley Jacobson started in goal, recording 4 saves. Alyssa Pringle sent a shot high early in the game and Andrea Foster booted three corner kicks in the first 20 minutes. Madonna opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and held a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The Crusaders added two more goals in the second half, keeping the play mostly in the Concordia end. Alexandra Salazar came in to play goalie in the 72nd minute, making 2 saves down the stretch. Andrea Foster recorded a shot on goal during a rush into Madonna territory, but the Cardinals eventually fell 3-0.

 

Concordia will return home to host UM-Dearborn this Friday at 4pm.
