Women's Soccer downed at Bethel

(Mishawaka, IN) – Concordia women's soccer traveled to Bethel on Saturday afternoon for their second game of the season. The Cardinals battled hard and scored their first marker of the year, but the Pilots pulled away for a 4-1 win.

 

Hayley Jacobson played a complete game in goal with 7 saves. Madilyn Webb fired a high shot just over the goal in the 5th minute. Bethel broke through with a goal a minute later, but Hayley Jacobson continued to stay sharp with many more saves in net. CUAA trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Bethel scored again early in the second half, but the Cardinals countered in the 51st minute when Alyssa Pringle found a seam and fired an unassisted marker into the net. The Pilots responded with two more goals to maintain their lead. Alyssa Pringle stayed dangerous with two more shots on net and Alexis Russell also fired on goal, but Bethel claimed the win.

 

Concordia will hold their home opener on Wednesday, August 30 when they host #1 Spring Arbor at 5:30pm.
