Women's Soccer blanks Cleary 3-0

(Howell, MI) – Concordia women's soccer traveled to Cleary on Wednesday evening for a WHAC matchup under the lights. The Cardinals found an offensive spark and put together a shutout in a 3-0 victory.

 

Hayley Jacobson played a complete game in goal, notching 3 saves. Concordia struck first when Andrea Foster notched an unassisted goal in the 11th minute. The Cardinals converted again in the 34th minute. Alyssa Pringle took a through ball from Micayla McGee, streaked down the left side, and buried the ball in the net. CUAA led 2-0 at halftime.

Concordia weathered several Cleary attacks early in the second half. The Cardinals added to their lead in the 82nd minute. Micayla McGee was awarded a penalty kick and chipped the ball over the Cougars' goalkeeper. CUAA held firm on defense and clinched the 3-0 shutout as time expired.

 

Concordia will remain on the road at Lawrence Tech this Saturday at 11am.
