Women's Soccer falls to Siena Heights 4-0

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals women's soccer team took to the field on Saturday for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) matchup against the Saints from Siena Heights. 

 

The Cardinals come into the game following a 0-0 draw against Indiana Tech on Wednesday and enter with a 0-8-1 overall record and 0-1-1 in WHAC play. The Saints also tied their previous game against Cornerstone and would enter at 5-0-4 and 1-0-1 in WHAC play. 

 

The Cardinals would get a shot off to start the game from Katelyn Aiello but would be saved by the SHU goalkeeper. The Saints would counter with an attack and would force a corner kick. Off the corner the Saints defender would score right off the corner for the 1-0 lead. 

 

The Cardinals would add a couple of shots over the next 20 minutes off the feet of Alyssa Pringle and Andrea Nava Garduno. The second Saints goal would came off a CUAA turnover and would make it 2-0. 

 

The Saints would force yet another corner and this time would see their midfielder pick up a goal directly off the kick.

 

Not much action would happen until the final 5 minutes when the Saints would rack on yet another goal to make it 4-0. 

 

CUAA goalkeeper Hayley Jacobson would take the loss for the Cardinals bringing her season record to 0-9-1. 

 

The Cardinals will head back to the pitch when they travel to Cleary for a midweek matchup against the Cougars on Wednesday, October 4 with kickoff at 7 PM.
