(Adrian, MI) - Concordia volleyball traveled to rival Siena Heights on Saturday afternoon for a WHAC contest. The Cardinals battled hard but fell in straight sets 3-0.
Breann June led the team with seven kills. Emma Leinberger had a team-high of 16 assists. June and Leinberger also tied Claudia Grepke with six digs. Jessalyn Peavyhouse had a team best three blocks.
SET ONE: SHU 25, CUAA 15
Megan Neumann had the first Cardinal kill of the game. Breann June made several kills down the stretch as the Cardinals looked to keep pace through the set. Jessalyn Peavyhouse recorded a solo block, but Siena Heights took set one.
SET TWO: SHU 25, CUAA 16
The first kill in set two went to Megan Neumann. Breann June made an ace and Jacey Powell had a kill for a 3-2 lead. Merin Merkle had two kills midway through the set and Breann June continued to be a strong hitter. However, Siena Heights took set two.
SET THREE: SHU 25, CUAA 13
Jacey Powell made the first Cardinal kill in set three. Jessalyn Peavyhouse recorded combined blocks with Powell and Merin Merkle early on. Peavyhouse had two kills of her own and Jacey Powell also notched two late kills, but Siena Heights closed out the game in three sets.
CUAA will travel to Indiana Tech this Wednesday, October 2nd, at 7pm.
