(Fort Wayne, IN) - Concordia volleyball continued WHAC play with a road contest with Indiana Tech on Wednesday night. The Cardinals played hard but fell in straight sets to the Warriors.
Jacey Powell led the Cardinals with eight kills. Emma Leinberger had a team high of 15 assists. Emiline Wood secured the back end with 15 digs.
SET ONE: IT 25, CUAA 14
Jacey Powell had the first two Cardinal kills of the game. Sarah Eggelmeyer recorded an ace midway through the set. Jacey Powell continued her solid play with two more kills, but Indiana Tech took set one.
SET TWO: IT 25, CUAA 17
Megan Neumann made the first CUAA kill in set two. The Cardinals stayed within a few points of the Warriors for most of the set with Claudia Grepke notching two kills. However, Indiana Tech pulled away late to take set two.
SET THREE: IT 25, CUAA 17
Breann June started a 4-0 CUAA run with a kill and capped the run with an ace. Jessalyn Peavyhouse added two kills, and the Cardinals held a 10-9 lead early in the set. Peavyhouse and Merin Merkle teamed up for a block later on, but the Warriors rallied to close the game in three sets.
Concordia will travel to University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, October 9th, at 7pm.
