(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its yearly postseason honors and several Cardinals earned awards for their efforts this season.
SECOND TEAM
CLAUDIA GREPKE | SR | LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
The senior makes her second appearance on a WHAC All-Conference team as she was named to the WHAC First Team in 2022. Grepke was the team's top attacker, collecting 289 kills and 2.73 kills per set average, which were both ninth in the WHAC. In addition, she recorded 130 digs and 33 blocks.
CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER
Breann June was also recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The senior was honored for her commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. This is the second time June has earned this honor.
Cardinals head coach Danielle Cook was named the WHAC Champions of Character Coach for the 2024 season. Cook takes home the honor for the fifth time in her Cardinal coaching career.
WHAC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Also, WHAC All-Academic teams were named on Thursday. The qualifications for the All-Academic team were a sophomore in academic standing and a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The eleven Cardinals to earn the honor were Sarah Eggelmeyer, Claudia Grepke, Breann June, Courtney Kalahar, Emma Leinberger, Merin Merkle, Megan Neumann, Jessalyn Peavyhouse, Jacey Powell, Maggie Pritts, and Emiline Wood.
