(Defiance, OH) - Concordia volleyball traveled to Defiance on Wednesday night for a WHAC matchup.  The Cardinals fell in straight sets in the contest.   

Breann June led the team with six kills.  Emma Leinberger had a team high nine assists.  Emiline Wood led the backend with seven digs.   

SET ONE: DC 25, CUAA 13 

Claudia Grepke made the first Cardinal kill of the game.  Breann June notched a pair of kills and Jacey Powell combined with Megan Neumann for a block.  However, Defiance took set one. 

SET TWO: DC 25, CUAA 13 

Megan Neumann had CUAA's first kill in set two.  Claudia Grepke recorded an ace and Breann June added two more kills.  Emma Leinberger notched back-to-back aces and Breann June made an ace as well.  However, Defiance stayed ahead and took set two. 

SET THREE: DC 25, CUAA 18 

Megan Neumann opened set three with a kill.  The Cardinals used a 9-0 run to build an 11-5 lead early on.  Jillian Kendrick made two aces in the run and Claudia Grepke had a spike for the 11thpoint.  Defiance rallied to retake the lead and while the Cardinals kept the set close, they fell in straight sets.  

Concordia will host rival Siena Heights this Friday, November 1st, at 7pm.
