Men's Bowling takes first at the Inaugural Dirty Bird Classic

(Jackson, MI) - The Concordia Cardinal's Men's Bowling team opened up the 2023-24 season at the Dirty Bird Classic at the Jax 60 in Jackson, Michigan. The Cardinals were the host for the first annual event and would also come home as winners of the event after battling through three individual games, five bakers, and then two rounds of match play. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

The top spot for the Cardinals was Jeffrey Lizewski after he bowled a 673 through three games. Finishing in fourth place overall was Dylan Jablonski who totaled 625 pins. The third top-10 finisher was Conner Rogus who finished sixth with 616 pins. 

 

Patrick Good Jr. and David Schaberg went two games apiece for CUAA with 374 and 360 pins respectively. Alexander Bumpus and Spencer Mosher each went one game as they would total 175 and 174 pins respectively. 

 

JV RESULTS

For the JV teams, Nicholas Cranson led them all after finishing seventh with 611 pins knocked down. Conner Lackey took home a 13th-place finish with 572 pins. Cole Peters and Nicholas Holz finished back-to-back with 486 and 485 pins respectively. 

 

Finishing six pins apart were Ryan Frederick and Donovan Uselman with 470 and 464 pins respectively. Caleb Gard and Marek Bernhardt were the final two from the JV team to bowl the full three games with 422 and 401 pins respectively. 

 

Cameron Barrett would go two games for the Cardinals as he hit 353 pins. Hunter Fletcher was next for CUAA as he knocked down 259 pins through two games. 

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

Lizewski took home the top spot in the individual rankings after knocking down a total of 673 pins through the three rounds. 

 

The Cardinals would defeat Aquinas 2-0 in the semifinal and would also upend Indiana Wesleyan 3-0 in the final match. 

 

UP NEXT

The Cardinal's will head back to the lanes on October 7 and 8 when they travel to Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Bowlero Lanes for the Midwest Collegiate Championships.
