Men's Bowling ends the Collegiate Shootout in 10th-place

(Las Vegas, NV) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Bowling team rounded out their trip to Las Vegas as they participated in the Collegiate Shootout. The event featured 6 team games followed by 16 baker games. The top-8 teams would then advance to the semi-finals. 

 

The Cardinals finished the first day in 12th place as they would hit 5,988 total pins throughout the team games. 

 

CUAA would narrowly miss out on advancing to the semifinal by less than 100 pins as they knocked down 9,151 pins to finish the tournament in 10th place. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

Jeffrey Lizewski took the top CUAA spot after he hit a total of 1,222 pins in his six games and tallied a high score of 235. Connor Rogus was the only other Cardinal to bowl all 6 games, finishing 13 pins back of Lizewski with 1,209 pins and a high game of 246. 

 

Alexander Bumpus went five games for the Cardinals with a high game of 237 on his way to a 199.8 average. Kenji London was up next for CUAA as he would average 219.8 over his four games and scored a high game of 278. 

 

The final three CUAA bowlers each bowled three games as Patrick Good Jr. led the pack with a 200.7 average and a high game of 220. The final two bowlers were Dylan Jablonski and David Schaberg who averaged 192.73 and 167.7 respectively, while bowling high games of 246 and 181 respectively. 

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

C.J. Petrin took the individual title after a narrow win over second place by eight pins. Petrin ended the tournament with 1,414 total pins. 

 

Weeber International took home the team title after upending Wichita State in the Championship match. Webber finished third following the baker games but took first after their two matches. 

 

UP NEXT

The Cardinals will be off until the new year when they travel to Addison, IL for the Kegel Collegiate Classic on January 13 and 14.
