Men's Bowling opens 2024 at the Kegel Collegiate Classic

(Addison, IL) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Bowling team traveled to Illinois for their latest match, competing at the Kegel Collegiate Classic. The event featured 5 team games followed by 20 baker games. 

 

The Cardinals stood in 8th place following the tournament's first day after scoring 4,894 pins through the 5 team games. The Cardinals would bowl 3,753 in the 20-baker games to finish in 13th place. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

Jeffrey Lizewski was the team's top finisher with a 19th-place finish after scoring 1,049 while shooting a high game of 256. Next up for the Cardinals was Alexander Bumpus who rounded out his total with a 1,026 through the five games and scored a high game of 235. 

 

Three Cardinals bowled in four games as they were headed by Kenji London who scored an 841, on his way to averaging 210.3 and recording a high game of 247. David Schaberg followed London by scoring a 795 averaging 198.8 and scoring a high game of 224. Dylan Jablonski rounded out the trio by bowling 660 averaging 165 and recording a high game of 213.

 

The final CUAA bowler was Connor Rogus who bowled in three games for the Cards as he shot a 523 while averaging 174.3 and scoring a high game of 190. 

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

Mount Mercy took home the top spot in the team rankings after knocking down a total of 9,460 pins throughout all the games. 

 

Gunner Kruse from the University of Northwestern Ohio took the top individual spot after scoring a 1202 overall. 

 

UP NEXT

The Cardinals will next compete at the final WHAC Jamboree of the season in Allen Park, Michigan on February 3rd.
