Men's Bowling finishes in second at the American Heartland Tournament

(Canton, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Bowling team competed on Sunday at the second American Heartland Tournament of the year. The Cardinals would put themselves in first place following the team game but would ultimately fall to Lawrence Tech. The Cardinals would hit a total of 6,620 total pins. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

Conner Rogus was the top finisher for the Cardinals with a total of 932 pins, which placed him in second place for the tournament. He recorded a team-high score of 258 for the tournament. Another top-5 finisher was Jeffrey Lizewski as he posted a score of 917 and a high score of 246. Spencer Mosher finished in 13th place as he totaled a score of 875 and a high game of 236. Alexander Bumpus was the final Cardinal varsity bowler to go all four games as he would total a score of 805 while posting a 234-high game. 

 

Dylan Jablonski went three games while averaging 216.3 with a high of 249. The final team game was bowled by Patrick Good Jr. with an 181 score.

The Cardinals would field two separate JV teams with the first placing fourth and the second placing seventh.

2nd: Kenji London - 884 Total Score - 245 High Game

16th: Donovan Uselman - 767 - 225

18th: Conner Lackey - 754 - 195

20th: Hunter Fletcher - 742 - 186

56th: Cole Peters - 407 - 224

59th: Brandon Hiestand - 368 - 190

 

JV Team 2: 

17th: Caleb Gard - 756 - 218

22nd: Michael Cohen - 725 - 219

25th: Cameron Barrett - 707 - 228

36th: Marek Bernhardt - 650 - 180

40th: Nicholas Holz - 610 - 184

 

RECORD BOOKS

Conner Rogus' score of 932 is the seventh-highest score in program history. Jeffrey Lizewski's score of 917 is tied for the eighth-highest in program history. 

 

The team series average of 1,089.8 is the third-highest in program history. 

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

Lawrence Tech took home the title following solid baker games which gave them the lead. They scored a total of 7,710 pins throughout the team and baker games. 

 

Narrowly edging out Rogus was Nathan Minzler from Wright State with a total of 968 pins as he finished in first place for the tournament. 

 

UP NEXT

The Cardinals will compete at the first and second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree of the season next weekend with the first taking place on Friday, November 3 at the Westgate Bowl in Comstock Park, Michigan.
