Mark DeVries named WHAC Defensive Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their weekly Player of the Week awards and Men's Basketball's Mark DeVries earned this week's honor for his defensive efforts in the Cardinal's win over Oakland City on Sunday.

DeVries, a sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan, led the Cardinals in defensive rebounds with 10 in their win at Oakland City while also recording a steal and a block. He totaled a team leading 12 rebounds and added on 7 points and an assist offensively.

This is the first WHAC Player of the Week honor in DeVries' Cardinal career, and he joins Jack Olis, who won the award earlier this season for Concordia.

The Cardinals are back in action with a neutral site game on Tuesday against IU-Kokomo before hosting Defiance on Saturday, January 4th at 3:00 PM.
