Men's Basketball see's Colby Chapman named to WHAC All-Freshman team

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their yearly postseason awards for Men's Basketball on Friday afternoon and several Concordia Cardinal's earned honors for their performance on and off the court this season. 

 

ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM

Colby Chapman | R-Freshman | Rensselaer, Indiana

The redshirt freshman guard earns his first mention on an All-Conference team after recording the second most points per game this season on the team with 10.4. In addition, Chapman was able to shoot 42.6% from the field, including 37.6% from three. He added 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as well. 

 

CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER

Jason Jergens was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. He was honored for his commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

 

Head Coach Ricky Yahn was also named as the WHAC Champion's of Character Coach. He is the first CUAA Men's Basketball coach to earn the honor since Ben Limback won back-to-back awards in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. 

 

ALL-ACADEMIC

The WHAC announced their All-Academic teams, which involve being a sophomore in Academic standing and having a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The seven Cardinals honored were Austin Burciaga, Mason Canfield, Colby Chapman, Mark DeVries, Jason Jergens, Gabe Sweat, and Hunter Yeakey
