(Lima, OH) - CUAA men's basketball went on the road to UNOH on Friday night for a WHAC contest. The Cardinals looked to erase an early deficit, but the Racers emerged with a 107-70 win.
Hunter Yeakey led the team with 14 points. Ray Washington-Battle and Trevor Viau tied for second with nine points apiece. Matt Blanton led the team with seven rebounds while adding seven points.
Ray Washington-Battle ended an 8-0 UNOH run with a layup and added an early jumper. Colby Chapman and Luke Brohl made jumpshots as the half continued. Mark DeVries scored inside and CUAA trailed 19-10 at the midway point of the half.
Matt Blanton made a pair of layups and Hunter Yeakey had the team's next four points. Trevor Viau hit a jumper and a triple and Wyatt Zepp scored as well. Colby Chapman drained free throws and CUAA trailed 44-28 at halftime.
Matt Blanton opened the second half with a 3-pointer. Mark DeVries made free throws and both Ray Washington-Battle and Jack Olis drove for layups. Washington-Battle made an offensive putback and Colby Chapman had a layup. Jack Olis drained free throws and a 3-pointer and both Colby Chapman and Wyatt Zepp made layups. CUAA faced an 83-50 deficit at the midway point of the second half.
Francis Senter scored a layup and Luke Brohl knocked down a jumper. Trevor Viau scored and Hunter Yeakey had two free throws plus a triple. Noah Schirin made a free throw and Hunter Yeakey scored another five points. However, CUAA fell 107-70 as time expired.
CUAA will return home this Wednesday, February 19th, to host Indiana Tech (RV) at 7:30pm.
