(Ann Arbor, MI) - CUAA men's basketball played host to Indiana Tech on Wednesday night in WHAC play. The Cardinals were not able to erase an early deficit and fell 71-51.
Colby Chapman led the team with 18 points. Mark DeVries came in second with nine points along with a team-high eight rebounds.
Colby Chapman opened scoring with a 3-pointer. Indiana Tech countered with an 8-0 run until Matt Blanton made a triple. CUAA trailed 15-6 at the midway point of the first half.
Jason Jergens got on the scoresheet with a 3-pointer. Colby Chapman converted an "and-1" and Mark DeVries hit a triple. Jack Olis made a jumper and Colby Chapman drained two free throws. CUAA faced a 33-20 deficit at halftime.
Mark DeVries opened scoring in the second half with a layup. Ray Washington-Battle drained a free throw and Mark DeVries knocked down a triple. Mason Canfield drove for a layup and made a 3-pointer. CUAA trailed 51-32 midway through the second half.
Jack Olis made a jumper and Matt Blanton nailed a triple. Luke Brohl drove for a layup and both Colby Chapman and Brohl hit 3-pointers. Colby Chapman finished his standout day with the team's next six points. However, CUAA fell by a final score of 71-51.
CUAA will celebrate Senior Day this Saturday, February 22nd, when they host Lourdes at 3pm.
