McAlinden takes home NCCAA Offensive Player of the Week honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly Player of the Week winners for softball and Concordia Cardinals' Shannon McAlinden was named the offensive player of the week for helping the team to a 2-0 week. 

 

McAlinden, a junior from Riverview, Michigan, earned the honors following a 0.714 batting average while going 5-7 from the plate. McAlinden was also able to tally two triples over the games that drove in multiple runs with each hit. She totaled three runs batted in while scoring three runs herself. McAlinden also tacked on 2 stolen bases on the week as well. 

 

This is McAlinden's first player of the week honor this season and is her second honor in her Cardinal career after earning one in March of 2021. 

 

McAlinden and the Cardinal softball team is back in action this weekend as they travel to Alice Lloyd in Kentucky for a four-game series. The games will begin on Saturday, February 18 at 2 and 4 PM, while games on Sunday begin at 12 and 2 PM.
