Softball falls in series at UNOH

(Lima, OH) – Concordia softball traveled to UNOH on Thursday afternoon for a WHAC doubleheader.  The Cardinals played hard but fell in both contests. 

 

Game 1 – UNOH 8, CUAA 1 

UNOH plated 4 runs to start the 1stCassidy Kane came in to finish the inning, going 3.2 innings with a strikeout.  The Racers added another run in the 2nd. 

Concordia scored in the top of the 4th when Jada Stephenson hit an RBI double to drive in Dee CampbellKendall Kahl pitched the final 2.1 innings of the contest.  The Cardinals threatened in the 7th but UNOH took game 1. 

 

Game 2 – UNOH 4, CUAA 2 

Elyse Brittain pitched a complete game, making 3 strikeouts.  Concordia scored in the top of the 2nd when Payton Lewis hit an RBI single scoring Jada Stephenson.  The Cardinals added another run in the 3rd with Dee Campbell's RBI double driving in Shannon McAlinden. 

UNOH tied the game with 2 runs in the bottom half.  The Racers took the lead with 2 more runs in the 6th and were able to secure the contest. 

 

Concordia will return home this Sunday to host UM-Dearborn starting at 1pm.
