Playford takes home WHAC & NCCAA Player of the Week honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly Player of the Week winners for softball and Concordia Cardinals Koryn Playford awarded the honors following the team's 2-0 week against Miami-Hamilton.

Playford, a senior from Jonesville, Michigan, took home the honors after going 6-6 over the two games. Throughout her six at-bats, she grabbed four extra-base hits (three doubles and 1 home run) while tallying four RBIs. On the base paths, she grabbed two stolen bases, while scoring a total of five runs.

This is the first time Playford has been named either WHAC or NCCAA player of the week in her Cardinal career. She joins Paige Anderson and Shannon McAlinden, who both earned NCCAA honors, as a player of the week honorees this season.

The Cardinals will be back in action on Friday, March 10th, as they take on Washington Adventist and Culver-Stockton down in Melbourne, Florida at 11:30 AM and 2 PM respectively.
