Anderson earns NCCAA Defensive Player of the Week honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly Player of the Week winners for softball and the Cardinals have another winner. This week Paige Anderson takes home the award.

Anderson, a sophomore, has come on strong for the Cardinals as of late. Anderson pitched in three contests, starting in two of them, against Alice Lloyd and picked up the win in all three games. She pitched 19 2/3 innings and struck out 28 batters while only allowing 5 runs (2 earned runs). Anderson also only walked 4 batters and gave up just 9 hits over the weekend.

This is the first time Anderson has won a player of the week honor. She joins Shannon McAlinden as NCCAA player of the week honorees.

The Cardinals will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday, March 4th against Miami-Middletown.
