Katie Snow named WHAC Player of the Week

The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their weekly player of the week recipients on Monday afternoon.Katie Snow was named the women's basketball WHAC Player of the Week after leading the Cardinals to two wins last week. Snow averaged 19.5 points, 7 rebounds, 2.5 assists while shooting 50% from the field during the two game stretch.

 

In the team's 80-71 comeback win over Taylor University last Tuesday, Snow paced the Cardinals with a team high 19 points (5-12) and 6 rebounds. Snow pitched in 7 points (7-11) from the free through line as well. Snow continued her efforts in another comeback win for the Cardinals. Playing in their first road game of the year, the Cardinals defeated Midway 60-57 on Saturday afternoon. Snow led the Cardinals comeback efforts scoring 14 of her team high 20 in the second half. Snow nearly recorded a triple double hauling in eight rebounds and swiping seven steals. The seven steal were two short of her career record.

 

This is the second time in Snow's illustrious career that she has received this honor from the WHAC. She is the first women's basketball player recognized this season. She joins Samantha Golchuk (women's soccer) and Ryan Webb (men's soccer) as other Cardinals recognized by the WHAC as player of the week in their respective sports.

 

The women's basketball team will continue their non=conference schedule on Tuesday when they travel to Spring Arbor. Tipoff is set for 7pm with live coverage available courtesy of Spring Arbor athletics.
