Women's Bowling places 14th at the Midwest Collegiate Championships

(Jackson, MI) - The Concordia Cardinal's Women's Bowling team returned to the lanes following a couple of weeks off as they headed to Wisconsin for the Midwest Collegiate Championships at the AMF West in Milwaukee. The Cardinals saw themselves in 13th place of the 35 teams at the event. 

 

The Cardinals saw themselves in 14th place following the baker games which they would hit 2819 pins throughout the 16 baker games. The Cardinals would be on the outside of the bracket play. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

Three CUAA bowlers would go the full six games for the Cardinals with Emilee Hughes, Gabriella VanHorn, and Amanda Fisher doing that for the Cardinals. Hughes finished in 16th place as she knocked down 1175 pins, VanHorn hit 1108 pins, and Fisher was just behind her with 1002 pins. 

 

Kyla Peterson bowled four games for CUAA with 683 pins and averaging 170.8 pins. Megan Redmond and Ryan Giese would each go three games for the Cardinals as they would hit 594 and 450 pins respectively. Giese had the highest average for the Cards as she averaged 198 pins per game. 

 

Two more individuals finished up the 30 games for Concordia as Brooke Binder and Bailey VanMeter hit 189 and 153 pins respectively. 

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

Wisconsin Whitewater took home the first-place finish at the tournament after upending Webber International in the Championship game, 2-0. 

 

Linda Himes from Webber International took the top spot in the individual games after knocking down 1320 pins over her six games. 

 

UP NEXT

The Cardinals will return on the lanes next weekend when they travel to the C300 Western Shootout at the Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana.
