Women's Bowling takes home a first-place finish at final WHAC Jamboree of season

(Allen Park, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Women's Bowling team took home the top spot at the final Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Jamboree of the 2023-24 season. 

 

The team would finish the team games with a score of 3,833 total pins and would finish at the top of the table after totaling 6,967 pins for the tournament. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

The Cardinals placed three bowlers in the top 10 as they were led by Gabriella VanHorn after she tallied a score of 852 with a 238 high game after placing third. Next up was Brooke Binder who rounded out the tournament in 6th place after tallying a score of 808 and a high game of 225. In 8th place was Emilee Hughes with a score of 801 and a high game of 224. The final CUAA bowler to go all four games was Kyla Peterson as she knocked down 698 pins. 

 

Amanda Fisher would bowl three games for the Cards as she averaged 151.67 and recorded a high game of 163. The final game was bowled by Ryan Giese who bowled a 219. 

 

JV CARDINALS RESULTS

The Cardinal JV team would also finish in first place after tallying a score of 6,583.

RECORD BOOKS

Gabriella VanHorn claims the third-highest score in program history for a four-game series with her 858. 

 

The team series average of 958.3 is the fourth-highest in program history. 

 

INDIVIDUAL WINNER

Kayla VanLinden from Aquinas took home the top spot in the individual tournament after scoring 888 total pins. 

 

UP NEXT

The Cardinals will next head to the Hoosier Classic at the Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 10 and 11.
