Women's Bowling finishes Collegiate Shootout in 11th-place

(Las Vegas, NV) - The Concordia Cardinal Women's Bowling team rounded out their trip to Nevada as they competed at the Collegiate Shootout on Wednesday and Thursday. The event featured 6 team games followed by 16 baker games.

 

The Cardinals rounded out day 1 in 8th place after hitting 5,609 pins throughout the team games. 

 

Day 2 featured the 16 baker games that the Cardinals would play for the event. The Cardinals finished the day with 8,418 total pins, which would place them in 11th place overall in the tournament. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

Emilee Hughes was the top bowler for the Cardinals as she finished in 11th place after hitting 1,190 pins through her 6 games. She also recorded a high game of 214 on the day. Next up for the Cardinals was Megan Redmond who rounded out the tournament in 18th place with a score of 1,153 pins, she tallied a high game of 245. The final Cardinal to bowl in all 6 games was Gabriella VanHorn, she would go on to knock down 1,023 pins for the tournament and recorded a high game of 201

 

Ryan Giese and Brooke Binder finished five pins apart as Giese averaged a 187 with a high score of 235, while Binder recorded a high game of 215 and averaged 186. 

 

The final two bowlers each bowled one game apiece as Kyle Peterson bowled a 196 and Amanda Fisher bowled a 182. 

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

Wichita State would take the team title after knocking down a total of 8,914 total pins over the two day event. 

 

Olivia Daujatas from Saint Xavier University (IL) took first place after hitting 1,314 pins over the 6 team games. 

 

UP NEXT

CUAA will be back in action in the new year when they will head to Addison, IL for the Kegel Collegiate Classic on January 13 and 14.
