Korte earns second WHAC & NCCAA Field Athlete of the Week on the Season

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their player of the week honors Monday afternoon and Women's Track and Field athlete Lena Korte took home this week's honors for field events.  

 

Korte, a junior from Clinton, Michigan, took home a first-place finish at the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) Classic in the Shot Put after throwing a 13.48-meter toss. The toss qualifies her once again for the NAIA National Championships with an "A" Standard. Korte also competed in the Weight Throw as she finished in sixth after heaving a toss of 14.57 meters. 

 

This is the second time Korte has won WHAC and NCCAA honors this season.

 

The Cardinals are back in action when they compete at the Doug Hansen Open at SVSU on Friday, January 19.
