(Brookings, SD) - Lena Korte from the Women's Track and Field team represented the Concordia Cardinals on Saturday afternoon at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Indoor Championships. Korte competed in the Shot Put event which she qualified for at the Oiler Open & Multis back in November.
With her first throw of the day Korte had a toss of 13.69 meters which she would improve upon for her second throw which was 14.03 meters. Her fourth toss of the day was 13.80 meters. Her fifth throw was recorded at 14.06 meters, which was her best of the afternoon.

With that throw, Korte ended the event in seventh place, which earned her an All-American selection, the first of her career. Korte also becomes the fifth All-American from the Indoor Track & Field following up Megan Ennis (2019-200 and four-time selection, Stephanie Johnston (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18).
The Track & Field team will be back in action as they transition to the Outdoor season with their first meet on March 23 when they travel to the Polar Bear Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan.
