Women's Indoor Track & Field competes at Hillsdale Wide Track Classic

(Hillsdale, MI) The Women's Track and Field team travelled to Hillsdale College on Saturday, January 27 for the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic. The team competed on their first 200-meter track of the season and proved to be an equalizer, as the team put in a hard effort. The team came away with, 4 personal records and 4 new collegiate marks.

Some of the biggest success of the day came from the weight throw, where both Madelyn Ankoviak and Quinn Stefanski earned personal records. Ankoviak threw a distance of 9.45 meters for her new personal record. Stefanski had a throw of 13.91 meters for a seventh-place finish and a new personal record of 13.91 meters.

In sprinting events, Madisyn Flamini ran a personal record in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:12 and an eight place finish. Jayde Ullenbruch made her collegiate debut in the 200 meter dash and finished in a 28.49 seconds. Ullenbruch also earned a personal record in high jump with a height of 1.54 meters.

The Cardinals had Amanda Fogo (Sophomore; Fowlerville, MI) and Alison Doerr (Sophomore; Grand Haven, MI) compete in the 5k for their collegiate debut.

The team will look to rebound slightly, as they pepare for the Mrs. G's invitational at Trine University on Friday, February 2.
