Women's Track & Field competes at Mrs. G Invitational; Ullenbruch qualifies for NCCAA Nationals

(Angola, IN) - The women's track and field team continued on with their indoor season on Friday, February 2 at Trine University for the Mrs. G's Alumni Invitational. The Cardinals came away with 8 personal records, 1 NCCAA qualifying mark and 1 event win.

The meet was led by Jayde Ullenbruch (Freshman; Port Huron, MI) who earned an NCCAA qualification in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.26 seconds, which was one of her three personal records on the day. Ullenbruch also earned a personal record in the 800-meter run and shot put. She ran a time of 2:55 for an 800-meter personal record and threw 8.32 meters in shot put.

The Cardinals also had Lena Korte (Junior; Clinton, MI) highlight the day by winning the shot put with a throw of 13.94 meters. The team also had two other throwers earn personal records. As Quinn Stefanski (Junior; Munger, MI) finished in third in the weight throw with a personal record throw of 14.13 meters. Morgan Jenkins (Sophomore; Cleveland, OH) also earned a personal record throw of 13.11 meters and finished in sixth. The Cardinals ended up placing three in the top six, with Korte, Stefanski and Jenkins.

The team had three others earn personal records as well. As Olivia Tomlinson (Caro, MI) earned a personal record in the 60-meter hurdles with a finishing time of 10.96 seconds. Grace Finley (Freshman; Monroe, MI) ran a new personal record time in the mile by finishing in 6:22. Amanda Fogo (Sophomore; Fowlerville, MI) finished in 12:36 for a new personal record in the 3k.

The Cardinals also had Freshman Elizabeth Hines make her career debut in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:13.

The team will head to Cedarville, Ohio for the National Christian College Athletic Association Indoor National Championships on Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10 for qualifying athletes. The whole team will be back together to finish out the indoor season with WHAC Championships at Aquinas College on February 16 and 17.
