NCCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS PREVIEW: Women's Track and Field set to compete at the NCCAA Championships

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Women's Track and Field teams head to Cedarville University for the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday.

The first NCCAA qualifiers of the season were at the first meet the Oiler Open. 

 

Jeyda Brown and Jayde Ullenbruch both qualified in the Indoor Pentathlon. Ullenbruch is ranked 5th in the NCCAA while Brown is ranked 6th in the NCCAA.

 

Jeyda Brown also qualified in the long jump with 4.94m. She is currently ranked 15th in the NCCAA. Jayde Ullenbruch would also qualify for the long jump later at SVSU Classic with 5.02 meters. She is ranked 12th in the NCCAA.

 

Lena Korte qualified in two events including the weight throw with a mark of 15.14 meters and shot put with 14.41 meters. Korte is ranked 1st in shot put and 4th in weight throw. 

 

Morgan Jenkins also qualified in weight throw with 12.87m. She has since bettered that distance at the Mrs. G Invitational with 13.11 meters. She is ranked 18th in the NCCAA.

 

Maya Freeman qualified for the shot put at the Oiler Open with 11.41 meters. She qualified in a second event at the Doug Hansen Open in weight throw 12.77 meters. She is ranked 12th in shot put and 20th in weight throw

 

Also at the Doug Hansen Open the Women's 4x400m Relay qualified which consisted of Jeyda Brown, Jayde Ullenbruch, Chloe Gunter, and Chloe Evans. Their time was 4:45:38. 

 

Quinn Stefanski became the 4th thrower to qualify at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic when she threw 13.91 meters in weight throw. She has since placed 3rd at the Mrs. G Invitational with 14.13 meters. She is ranked 9th in the NCCAA.

 

The Cardinals with have two other relays compete this weekend 

 

The 4x800 meter Relay consisting of Rachel Byers, Elizabeth Hines, Michaela Kurth, Chloe Gunter

 

4000-meter Distance Medley consisting of Chloe Gunter, Michaela Kurth, Elizabeth Hines, and Chloe Evans.
