NCCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY 1 RECAP: Women's Track and Field holds steady in 7th place

(Cedarville, OH) - The women's track and field team sit in seventh place after day one of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor National Championships in Cedarville, Ohio. The Cardinals sit two points behind Malone University and Trinity Christian College for fifth place and one point ahead of Roberts Wesleyan University in 10th place.

The day was highlighted by Jayde Ullenbruch (Freshman; Port Huron, MI) and Jayda Brown (Freshman; Ann Arbor, MI) who both competed in the pentathlon. Ullenbruch led the way with a fourth-place finish overall and a total of 2504 points. She rebreaks her school record with the points total as well and earned five points for the team. Brown finished in sixth place with a total of 2371 points and earned the team three points.

Ullenbruch's efforts were helped in the high jump, where she finished in third place by clearing a height of 1.46 meters. While also seeing a new best time in the 800-meter run, by finishing in 2:50. Brown had good results in high jump and long jump, where she cleared a height of 1.43 meters. She also led the way in long jump with a distance of 5.01 meters.

Also competing on the day was the women's distance medley relay, which is comprised of an 1200, 400, 800, and the Mile. The relay team of Chloe Gunter (Junior; Monroe, MI), Chloe Evans (Sophomore; New Boston, MI), Elizabeth Hines (Freshman) and Michaela Kurth (Freshman; Ypsilanti, MI) competed and earned a seventh-place finish overall. Which added another two points to the team total.
