Korte earns fifth WHAC Player of the Week honors of the season

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their player of the week honors Monday afternoon and for the fifth time this season, Women's Track and Field athlete Lena Korte took home this week's honors after claiming a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship.  

 

Korte, a junior from Clinton, Michigan, claimed the National title in the Shot Put event after a toss of 14.43 meters. The throw ended up becoming a NCCAA Championships meet record as well as a new school record. In addition to Shot Put, Korte appeared in the Weight Throw as she would wind up with a fourth-place finish with a toss of 14.97 meters. 

 

Korte and the Cardinals track & field teams head back to the track this upcoming weekend, February 16-17, for the WHAC Championships which are hosted by Aquinas College.
