(Las Vegas, NV) - Over the past two days, The Concordia Cardinals Women's Bowling team headed west for the Glenn Carlson Invitational at the South Pointe Hotel & Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event featured 8 team games followed by the top 8 being placed into bracket play.
Following the 8 team games, the Cardinals posted a score of 7,673, qualifying them in 5th place. The Cardinals upended their first-round opponent, Coe College by a score of 3-0, before ultimately falling to the eventual champion Mount Mercy by a score of 3-2.
CUAA RESULTS
Brooke Binder was the top bowler for CUAA as she placed 16th out of the 233 bowlers that were a part of the tournament. Binder tallied a score of 1,645 with a 247 high-game. Next up was Emilee Hughes who finished with 1,531 pins and a 230 high-game. MacKenzie Morgan was the third CUAA bowler as she scored 1,509 pins while recording a 214 high-game. Bailey VanMeter was the final CUAA bowler to bowl all eight games as she finished with a score of 1,497.
Amanda Fisher bowled in six games for the Cardinals with a score of 1,144 with a 248 high-game. Arielle Oakley bowled the final two games recording a 347 and a 182 high-game.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Mount Mercy placed first as they took the top spot in both the qualifying round and bracket play. In the qualifying round, they scored 8,370 pins before taking down William Penn, Concordia, and Saint Xavier (IL).
Emily King from Milligan took home the top spot in the individual portion of the tournament after recording a score of 1,809.
