Women's Lacrosse ranked 9th in NAIA Top 10 Preseason Poll

(Kansas City, MO) - The Concordia Cardinal's Women's Lacrosse team is looking to repeat their 2021 success as Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season champions and will do so starting their second straight season inside the NAIA Top 10 preseason poll. 

 

The Cardinals earned 34 points in the poll, marking it the 8th straight time the Cardinals have been within the Top 10. Their highest ranking was last season when they were 8th in the poll. 

 

The WHAC also released their 2021 preseason poll which saw Concordia projected to finish third, with 79 points, in the conference behind Lawrence Tech and Siena Heights with 99 and 90 points respectively. 

 

In the NAIA poll, defending NAIA champions Keiser (FL) narrowly took the first place spot gaining all six first-place votes and 66 total points. Following them in the top 5 are Cumberlands (KY) (62 points), Life (GA) (58), Lawrence Tech (MI) (54) and Reinhardt (GA) (50). Rounding out the Top 10 is Benedictine (KS) (46), Siena Heights (MI) (42), SCAD Savannah (GA) (38), and Georgetown (KY) (31).

 

The Cardinals will open their season on February 19 when they travel to Kansas to face off against No. 6 Bendictine with a 12 PM faceoff.
