Women's Lacrosse defeated by #4 Life

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia women's lacrosse was in action once again at Ferry Field this afternoon, taking on the 4th-ranked Life Running Eagles. Despite an early goal for the Cardinals, the Running Eagles took momentum quickly in the contest and never looked back, winning 19-3.

Nicole Bordo led the team with 3 shots on goal. Jennifer Miller and Alana Mortimer each recorded 4 ground balls.

Rachel Costello started in goal, recording 12 saves. Concordia got on the board in a flash, as Megan Soop took a pass from Jennifer Miller and beat the Life goalie just 20 seconds into the contest to give Concordia a 1-0 lead. Rachel Costello stood firm in net throughout the game, especially early in the 1st quarter, when she made 4 saves during the opening 8 minutes to keep the Running Eagles off the board. Eventually Life would score in the frame, tallying 6 goals by the end of the period.

After another Running Eagles goal, Taylor Nesbitt would rip a shot past the Life goalie to make it a 7-2 game. Madisyn Fox picked up the helper on the score. Life tacked on 5 more goals in the second quarter and eventually held a 12-2 lead going into halftime.

The third period resulted in the lowest scoring frame of the game, with Life picking up a score before Isabella Komarowski found a lose ball and converting it into a goal to make it a 13-3 contest. The Running Eagles picked up one more goal late in the quarter.

Life continued to control the contest in the final frame, scoring 5 more unanswered goals and running away with a 19-3 victory.
