Miller wins NAIA Defensive Player of the Week Honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced their weekly player of the week recipients on Tuesday afternoon and Senior Jennifer Miller was named the Defensive Player of the Week for Women's Lacrosse. 

 

Miller, was third on the team this past week in goals with five. Miller also led the team in ground balls and draw controls with 11 and 13 respectively. She added in five caused turnovers as well. 

 

This is Miller's first National Player of the Week honor as this is also the program's first weekly award winner. Miller has a decorated Cardinal career as she has won conference player of the week accolades seven times, is the reigning WHAC Defensive Player of the Year, and was named a Second-Team All-American last season.  

 

Each player of the week is selected out of a pool of conference and Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) award winners.

 

The Cardinals will close out the regular season this week with three games against Madonna, Bethel, and Indiana Tech all on the road. The Madonna game is on Wednesday with it beginning at 2 PM.
