Women's Lacrosse falls at #1 Lawrence Tech

(Southfield, MI) – Concordia women's lacrosse traveled to #1-ranked Lawrence Tech on Wednesday afternoon in a critical WHAC conference matchup.  The upset-minded Cardinals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Blue Devils eventually came back for an 18-5 win.

 

Rachel Costello started in goal, making 5 saves.  Taylor Nesbitt opened scoring with an unassisted goal in the first minute of the game.  Nicole Bordo tacked onto the lead with Greyson Papp drawing the assist.  Lawrence Tech fought back with 3 straight goals, but Bordo's second of the game tied the contest 3-3.  The Blue Devils added 4 more markers to lead 7-3 after the first quarter.

Lawrence Tech continued to gain momentum with another 6 goals in the second quarter, taking a 13-3 lead into halftime.

The Blue Devils extended their lead in the second half, but the Cardinal offense converted in the fourth quarter when Greyson Papp scored off a feed from Taylor NesbittNicole Bordo later completed her hat trick by capitalizing on a turnover and sniping a shot in the net.  However, Lawrence Tech claimed the 18-5 win.

 

Concordia will head on the road this Saturday to face Bethel at 10:30am.
