Women's Lacrosse tops Cleary 20-2 on Senior Day

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia women's lacrosse continued their WHAC season by hosting Cleary early on a Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals' offense was clicking on all cylinders in a 20-2 win, lifting the team to their 4th WHAC win of the year.

Greyson Papp, Jennifer Miller, Madisyn Fox, Nicole Bordo and Taylor Nesbitt all recorded hat tricks in the contest. Miller also had a team-high 5 ground balls and 10 draw controls. Madalyn Fields and Taylor Armstrong tied for a team-high 3 caused turnovers.

 

Peyton Long played a complete game in goal, making 5 saves. Greyson Papp opened scoring in the first minute, picking up her program-record 100th career goal, with Taylor Nesbitt drawing the assist. Madalyn Fields and Nesbitt quickly tallied for a 3-0 lead in the first 2 minutes. Taylor Nesbitt and Megan Soop scored on free position shots and Jennifer Miller added her name to the scoresheet as well. Madisyn Fox got on the board off an assist from Madalyn Fields and Greyson Papp added her second of the game. Jennifer Miller's second marker gave CUAA a 9-0 lead after the first quarter.

Jennifer Miller completed her hat trick with a shorthanded goal to start the second quarter. Taylor Armstrong converted a free position shot and Taylor Nesbitt finished off her hat trick with a free position goal. Cleary was able to break the shutout later in the quarter, but CUAA headed to halftime with a 12-1 lead.

 

Katelynn Lawson scored a pair of goals in the third quarter as the Cardinals extended their lead. Greyson Papp finished her hat trick with an assist from Isabella Komarowski. Nicole Bordo notched a goal late in the quarter with Anna Werth assisting, giving CUAA a 16-2 advantage.

Nicole Bordo added her second goal of the game to start the fourth quarter with Greyson Papp drawing the helper. Madisyn Fox tacked on a goal with a free position shot. Bordo and Fox both finished off their hat tricks to close out the contest and CUAA claimed the 20-2 victory.

 

Concordia will head on the road next Wednesday, April 13 to face Madonna at 2pm
