Men's Lacrosse doubles up Taylor 20-10 to secure WHAC regular season championship
(Upland, IN) – Concordia men's lacrosse concluded the regular season with a road contest at Taylor on Saturday.  The Cardinals completed a perfect 8-0 WHAC slate by pulling away in the second half for a 20-10 win. With the win, the Cardinals secured the regular season title for the WHAC and a birth into the WHAC semifinals as the top seed. 

 

Sam Bowling played a complete game in net, making 10 saves.  Taylor scored first, but Spencer Guppy and Noah Sorenson tallied goals to put the Cardinals ahead.  Both teams continued to trade goals with Sorenson adding his second marker.  The game was tied 3-3 after the 1st. 

Evan Stuart opened the 2nd quarter with a goal.  The game continued to be closely contested with Ryan Davis and Travis Wright finding the back of the net.  After Taylor took a 7-6 lead, the Cardinals fought back with goals from Andrew Simmons, Spencer Guppy, and Ryan Davis.  CUAA led 9-7 at halftime. 

 

Taylor scored first in the 3rd, but Travis Wright started a 9-0 run with a goal.  Spencer Guppy finished his hat trick with a powerplay goal.  Andrew Simmons and Hunter McCarty contributed to the run, Cross Papadelis scored, and Travis Wright finished his hat trick.  Cooper Regimbal scored to CUAA up 18-8 after the 3rd. 

 

Noah Sorenson completed his hat trick to start the 4th quarter.  Jack Foster notched a powerplay goal with 50 seconds remaining to secure the 20-10 win for the Cardinals. 

 

Concordia will now await their opponent in the WHAC conference tournament semifinal.
