Men's Lacrosse uses second-half comeback to down #RV Madonna 11-9
 
 

(Livonia, MI) – Concordia men's lacrosse traveled to rival Madonna on Saturday afternoon for a WHAC clash.  The Cardinals erased a first-half deficit and came back for an 11-9 victory, remaining a perfect 5-0 in WHAC play. 

 

Sam Bowling played a complete game in net, making 9 saves.  Madonna scored the first 2 goals until Cross Papadelis got the Cardinals on the board.  Travis Wright added a marker towards the end of the quarter, but Madonna led 6-2 after the 1st. 

The Cardinals attacked the net in the 2nd and Evan Stuart scored an unassisted goal.  Travis Wright later recorded his second goal with Stuart drawing the helper.  CUAA trailed 7-4 heading into halftime. 

 

Concordia stayed on the attack in the 3rd and Andrew Simmons scored a powerplay goal.  Just over a minute later, Cooper Regimbal tallied a marker.  Spencer Guppy continued the rally with a game-tying goal off a feed from Travis Wright.  The game was tied 7-7 after the 3rd. 

Andrew Simmons scored a powerplay goal early in the 4th to put Concordia ahead.  Cross Papadelis added his second goal, but Madonna rallied to tie the game 9-9.  Travis Wright and Spencer Guppy scored their second goals to put the team ahead for good.  CUAA held on to secure the 11-9 comeback win as time expired. 

 

Concordia will travel to Lourdes this Wednesday at 4pm.
