Men's Lacrosse Dominates Midland 22-2

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia men's lacrosse hosted Midland on Sunday after the contest was rescheduled due to snow. 14 different Cardinals scored as part of a strong offensive effort in a 22-2 win.

 

Sam Bowling played a complete game in goal, notching 7 saves.  Spencer Guppy opened the scoring on a quick shot off a feed from Travis Wright. Wright then added a goal off a pass behind the net from Ross Preston. Spencer Guppy notched his second marker to put CUAA up 3-0 after the 1st.

Andrew Simmons scored with an assist by Guppy to start the 2nd. Evan Stuart recorded two goals in a row before Midland broke the shutout. Jack Foster found the back of the net before halftime, putting the Cardinals up 7-1.

 

Concordia continued to pour on the goals in the 3rd with Ross Preston, Ryan Davis, and Hunter McCarty scoring in the first 4 minutes. McCarty added a powerplay goal and Jack Foster notched his second marker. Joseph Loria got his name on the scoresheet and Hunter McCarty completed his hat trick. Matthew Mahoney and Travis Wright finished off the 9-goal frame, putting CUAA up 16-2 after the 3rd.

Ross Preston slipped in a powerplay goal from the side of the net to open the 4th. Nick Bradford, Aldo Hans, Cross Papadelis, and Erik Takle-Flach all recorded their first goals of the season. Spencer Guppy completed his hat trick with just over a minute to play and CUAA claimed the 22-2 win.

 

Concordia will host Missouri Valley this Tuesday at 4 pm.
