Men's Lacrosse falls to Indiana Tech in WHAC Championship game
 
 

(Ann Arbor, MI) – #1 seed Concordia men's lacrosse hosted #2 seed Indiana Tech for the WHAC championship game on Saturday afternoon.  The Cardinals battled hard before their fans, but the Warriors came away with a 15-7 win. 

 

Sam Bowling played a complete game in net with 14 saves.  Indiana Tech scored the first two goals of the game, but the Cardinals countered when Spencer Guppy scored with Travis Wright assisting.  Ross Preston then tied the game after a helper from Nick Bradford.  CUAA trailed 3-2 after the 1st. 

Both teams traded markers early in the 2nd with Ross Preston notching his second goal off a feed from Andrew Simmons.  The Warriors were able to extend their lead and held a 6-3 advantage at halftime. 

 

Indiana Tech took a 10-3 lead at the 5:20 mark of the 3rdSpencer Guppy ended their run with a marker assisted by Andrew SimmonsEvan Stuart then capitalized with a powerplay goal to trim the deficit to 10-5 after the 3rd. 

The teams traded goals in the 4th with Cooper Regimbal weaving through the defense to score.  Ross Preston finished off his hat trick later in the quarter with a powerplay goal assisted by Evan Stuart.  However, Indiana Tech was able to hold on and secure a 15-7 win. 

 

Concordia will now await their postseason fate when the NAIA announces the 8-team national invitational bracket on Sunday.
