(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia men's lacrosse went on the road at #2 Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon for a critical WHAC matchup. The Cardinals pulled away in the second half and held off a late rally for a 12-11 win.
Sam Bowling played a complete game in net, making 17 saves. After Indiana Tech scored first, Travis Wright started a 5-0 Concordia run with a goal. Cross Papadelis and Hunter McCarty tallied markers, Evan Stuart scored on the powerplay, and Noah Sorenson completed the run. CUAA led 5-3 after the 1st.
Indiana Tech continued rallying and went ahead 6-5 with 9:36 to play in the 2nd. Hunter McCarty tied the game with his second goal with Cooper Regimbal drawing the assist. The match was tied 6-6 at halftime.
Hunter McCarty finished his hat trick in the 3rd with Joseph Loria drawing the helper. Evan Stuart notched his second goal and McCarty added a 4th. Cooper Regimbal converted on the power play and Travis Wright picked up his 2nd goal. CUAA led 11-7 after the 3rd.
Andrew Simmons scored early in the 4th with Hunter McCarty drawing the helper. Indiana Tech looked to make a late rally, adding 4 markers in the 4th. However, the Cardinal defense was able to hold in the final minutes to secure the 12-11 win.
Concordia will return home this Wednesday to host Lawrence Tech at 1pm.
