Hunter McCarty earns WHAC player of the Week honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their player of the week honors Monday afternoon and junior Hunter McCarty earned honors following the team's 12-11 win over #2 Indiana Tech.

McCarty, a junior from Lake Orion, Michigan, tallied four goals and one assist in that game against the Warriors. Two of his goals came in a crucial third period where the Cardinals outscored Indiana Tech 5-1. He also assisted on the final CUAA goal of the game in the fourth period.

This is the first time this season that McCarty has won WHAC honors and the third time in his CUAA career, winning twice in the 2021 season. He joins Sam Saje Ross Preston, Cross Papadelis, Sam Bowling, and Evan Stuart as Cardinals who have won WHAC honors this season.

The Cardinals are back in action this week twice at home as they take on #RV Lawrence Tech on Wednesday (4 PM) and #6 Siena Heights on Saturday (4 PM).
