West and Pomaville earn WHAC Baseball Players of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference released their first weekly pitcher and hitter of the week award winners and Cardinal baseball players and Concordia's Aaron West and Timothy Pomaville earned the first WHAC honors of the year. 

 

West, a freshman, earned the first WHAC honors of his career, after hitting 7-18 on the week for a .389 batting average. Throughout the six games, the Cardinals played throughout the week West was able to collect two doubles, one home run while tallying six runs and seven runs batted in. West's stats were good for a .450 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage. 

 

Pomaville, a junior, grabbed his first WHAC award after pitching the team to two wins on the week. Throughout the week he totaled 7.2 innings over the two games, allowing one run in each game. He was able to collect six strikeouts while only allowing seven hits and three walks. 

 

The baseball team will be traveling to Joilet, IL this weekend for a four-game series against Olivet Nazarene with the series beginning on Friday.
