Baseball falls to Concordia Nebraska in Florida

(Lake Wales, FL) – Concordia baseball faced off against Concordia-Nebraska as they continued their spring break trip on Saturday afternoon.  The teams traded leads early but several big innings by the Bulldogs lifted them to a 15-7 win.

 

Calvin Syrjala opened the scoring in the 1st inning with an RBI single that scored Joe Jones.  The Bulldogs countered with 3 runs to go ahead 3-1.

The Cardinals answered in the 3rd inning when a grand slam from Justin Kozlowski brought home Calvin Syrjala, Aaron West, and Joe Jones for a 5-3 lead.  The Bulldogs responded with 7 runs in the bottom half of the inning to pull back ahead.

An error in the 4th inning allowed Aaron West to score for the Cardinals.  However, the Bulldogs added 5 more runs in the 5thCalvin Syrjala hit an RBI single to drive in Caleb Harmond in the 6th, but Concordia-Nebraska took the win 15-7.

 

The Cardinals will return to action next Tuesday, March 15 when they face Trinity Baptist and Fort Lauderdale starting at 1:30 pm.
